Toshiba G900
Toshiba G900The PDA phones weren’t forgotten during the show, and here Toshiba created a surprise with the Toshiba G900, a professional PDA Phone running Windows Mobile 6 with a biometric fingerprint reader.

Here again, the device is HSDPA compatible and offers a VGA screen resolution as well as a 2 mega pixel camera (and a VGA camera on the front for videoconferencing). Meeting the latest fads of the moment, it has a complete sliding keyboard on the side.

WiFi, Bluetooth, miniSD port, all the normal PDA Phone options are bought together in this interesting product.

HTC Mobile products
HTC S710But whenever talking about smartphones or PDA Phones, we are talking about HTC. The Taiwanese maker no longer wants to stay in the shadows of the larger players and is looking to make a name for themselves. Numerous new features were displayed at the show, with a lot of these being done on this stand.

The most surprising is the HTC S710 (codename: HTC Vox), a smartphone that offers the luxury of possessing a sliding side keyboard while still keeping the same dimensions as a normal smartphone. The miniaturization has to be appreciated, with the phone possessing a 2 mega pixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth and microSD port. Even if it is only EDGE compatible, it is rare that it is of such a small size.

HTC AdvantageTheir other leading product is the HTC Advantage (codename: HTC Athena) which, while possessing the global characteristics of a PDA Phone, is also similar to a UMPC. A large 5” VGA screen, HSPDA, 624 MHz processor, a lot of memory (8GB), 3 mega pixel camera and integrated GPS chip, the HTC Advantage really offers a lot of options.

This is without even mentioning the detachable keyboard, which is almost a first in this range. Of course the price will be at the top end due to its characteristics, but the product should satisfy professionals that are continually on the move.

i-mate mobile products
i-mate Ultimate 7150We will finally look at the i-mate which unveiled their Ultimate range, a series of PDA Phones running Windows Mobile 6. Since the company no longer offers HTC products, it has released its own creations. The most impressive is the i-mate Ultimate 7150, which is half way between a PDA and a UMPC due to its complete folding keyboard.

The 7150 has a 3.8” VGA screen offering 262000 colours and HSDPA cellular connectivity. It has a 2 mega pixel camera and FM radio, all being run by a 524 MHz processor.
