This tip will allow you to quickly access folders that you frequently use. A simple click with the right mouse button on the start menu or folder will appear with a drop down menu that will display a direct link to your favourite folders.
Let’s take for example a folder that can be found on the C: drive with the name Downloads. With these instructions you can adopt this example to any folder that interests you.

Here is how you can create a direct link in a drop down menu:

Click on “Start”, “Run” and type “regedit”. Click “OK” and you will have access to the Windows Registry.

Go to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Directory\shell

Create a new key called Fav1 which can be done by right clicking on the Shell, and selecting New and key (see below).

Next, in the right hand side of the registry editor, double click on the new entry (by default) and give it the name that you want to appear in the drop down menu to access your favourites, for example Downloads Folder, and press OK.

Create a second key inside the first that we created and call this command.
