Address Bar Issue

May 16th, 2006 - 08:53 pm ET by Pat | Report spam
I typed Microsoft in the Address Bar and it opened a folder in My Favorites
I typed Adobe and it turns to Windows Live Search with Adobe results
I typed PhotoStory and it turns to Windows Live Search with PhotoStory results
I typed XP and it does the same
The last three I notice an http:// is added before the name but when typing
Microsoft, a folder appears.

Shouldn't there be a message such as 404 showing instead of turning to a
search page or opening a folder?

I typed a few more folder names to see what would happen. It opened the
majority of them. On one a File Download-security Warning window appeared.
It definitely seems to be searching my folders.
Odd behavior. It should be turning to a 404 Error page or page cannot be
displayed message or, are you sure you typed the url correctly page to say
the least.

Apparantly, Explorer 7 first looks for the typed
address on the first line of the Favorites folder.
If it did not find it, then it looks on the web.
