With the launch of the new Radeon HD 7850/HD 7870 video cards approaching, also known by code name Pitcairn, things are starting to become clearer.
We will start with the official announcements that will be made at the CeBIT show in Hanover which will take place between the 6th and 10th of March.
The prices put forward at 139 and 169 dollars respectively for the 1 and 2 GB base versions of the Radeon HD 7850, while prices will start at 199 dollars for the Radeon HD 7870 which comes with 2 GB of integrated memory.
In terms of the other technical characteristics, the processor cores will be 900 MHz with 1 280 treatment processors, and not 825 MHz as previously speculated for the Radeon 7850, while it will also come with GDDR5 memory running at 1 250 MHz.
The Radeon HD 7870 will come with a 950 MHz core with 1 408 treatment processors and GDDR5 memory running at 1 375 MHz.
We will have to wait and see how accurate this information is at the show, and what pricing will be in other regions.
