Bug#653023: syncevolution: please rebuild package against new version of libebook library (can't synchonize with evolution at all)

December 22nd, 2011 - 04:50 pm ET by Dmitry Nezhevenko | Report spam

Package: syncevolution
Version: 1.1.99.5a-2+b1
Severity: normal

It looks like syncevolution can't synchonize addressbook with built-in
Evolution one.

[ERROR] (syncevo-dbus-server:18735): libebook-WARNING **: e-book.c:3255: cannot get book from factory: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.gnome.evolution.dataserver.AddressBook0 was not provided by any .service files

Currently there is no such service. Right one is described in

/usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.gnome.evolution.dataserver.AddressBook.service

It has followed name:

org.gnome.evolution.dataserver.AddressBook1

The root cause is that binary package in unstable still uses libebook1.2-10
while new version was renamed to libebook-1.2-12

No source changes are needed. Even build-deps are correct

Thanks

Debian Release: wheezy/sid
APT prefers unstable
APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental')
Architecture: amd64 (x86_64)

Kernel: Linux 3.1.6+ (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT)
Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8)
Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash

Versions of packages syncevolution depends on:
ii libc6 2.13-23
ii libdbus-1-3 1.4.16-1
ii libgcc1 1:4.6.2-9
ii libglib2.0-0 2.30.2-4
ii libgnome-keyring0 3.2.2-1
ii libstdc++6 4.6.2-9
ii libsyncevolution0 1.1.99.5a-2+b1
ii syncevolution-common 1.1.99.5a-2
ii syncevolution-libs 1.1.99.5a-2+b1

Versions of packages syncevolution recommends:
ii bluez 4.96-3
ii evolution-data-server 3.2.2-1

syncevolution suggests no packages.

WBR, Dmitry

Hi Dmitry,

yes, there is a transition in progress from evolution-data-server 3.0
to 3.2, which needs binNMUs for several packages.

Furthermore, I already prepared a new upload for syncevolution 1.2.1,
which is waiting to be uploaded by my sponsor.

You can get working packages for amd64 here:

http://tikei.de/debian/syncevolution/

Regards,
Tino
