Bug#664427: enigmail: version 1.0.1-5 does not work with icedove 8.0

March 17th, 2012 - 01:40 pm ET by Damien Couroussé | Report spam
Package: enigmail
Version: 2:1.0.1-5
Severity: important

Hello,

I have just installed this package from stable, but I does not work in icedove.
Indeed, in the 'extensions' panel in icedove, it appears the version of
icedove/thunderbird currently installed on my system is not compatible
with enignmail.
I use icedove 8.0.

regards,
Damien

Please install enigmail from unstable. The bug occurs because enigmail
(or icedove) do not declare strict enough dependencies to ensure that
only working combinations are installed. I'll check whether that is
possible, but that would only help for future versions.
