Bug#668039: iceowl: Upgrade to latest sid makes all calendar, data unavailable

April 09th, 2012 - 01:30 pm ET by Jeremy Kozlowski | Report spam
I have upgraded to experimental version 1.3 but icedove still will not
read my calendar data. Did the update in sid erase the calendars or can
I somehow get this data out?
The storage.sdb file is still the correct size so it doesn't seem like
it's been erased.
My most recent backup is a month ago so I really need to get the
calendar events back.
Thanks for your help,
Jeremy K

Icedove or Iceowl? Did you start with -safemode? What's on the console?
What's on the JS Console?

Sorry, I meant Iceowl.
-safemode seems to have no effect.

Console repeats this:
Error: Error setting up timezone database: [Exception... "Component
returned failure code: 0x80520015 (NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED)
[mozIStorageService.openDatabase]" nsresult: "0x80520015
(NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED)" location: "JS frame ::
file:///usr/lib/iceowl/components/calTimezoneService.js :: _initDB ::
line 210" data: no]
Error: No timezones found! Please install calendar-timezones.xpi.

This pretty much looks like messed up permissions. Check the timezones
in /usr/lib/iceowl/extensions//
Cheers,
