Bug#672349: puppetca: Wrong option in help, --subject-alt-name versus --dns_alt_names

May 10th, 2012 - 05:40 am ET by Sebastien Koechlin | Report spam
Package: puppetmaster
Version: 2.6.2-5+squeeze5
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

"puppet cert --help" and "puppetca --help" both report:

(...)
generate: Generate a certificate for a named client. A
certificate/keypair will be generated for each client
named on the command line.

When generate is used the additional `--subject-alt-name` argument
can be used. The names, separated by `:`, passed will be added as
the subjectAltName of the final certificate.

But --subject-alt-name does not exists, it is called --dns_alt_names

It seems that this is not an issue with the newer versions of puppet, so
I have not filed this upstream.
