Bug#682108: gnome-packagekit: gpk-update-viewer did not work with http://http.debian.net if not run by super user

July 19th, 2012 - 10:30 am ET by Adrien Le Guillou | Report spam
Package: gnome-packagekit
Version: 3.4.2-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

What led up to the situation?
when launching gpk-update-viewer as unprivileged user it just show a
blank window and when launched from cli it appears that the programe is shut
even if the window is still here

What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I launched gpk-update-viewer as unprivileged user

launching the application as super user make the bug disappear
launching the application after changing the sources.list file to
replace "http://http.debian.net" with http://ftp.fr.debian.org" for exemple
make the bug disapear
I can still install application with gpk-application without any
problems while using "http://http.debian.net" as my only miror

Thanks,

Adrien

Hi!
Hmm, these issues seem to be completely unrelated... Do you get
updates shown if you run
"pkcon get-updates"?
Regards,
Matthias
