I went to other help sites from Microsoft to find out how
to permanently delete my Windows Live Mail and also
Windows Live Hot Mail.I Then did so, but i understand that
it takes a while, 1wk 2wks, or longer. Then later if i try to
log in to Windows Live Mail with my live account password my
"deletion" is void.I think Microsoft should send an email confirming
my actions to delete my accounts...
I do not like the Windows Live MAIL.I like the set up on
my Outlook Express better.Windows live Hotmail is ok
but i have other web based email

Try Google's Gmail. Gmail's spam filter in my opinion is 2nd to none and
besides the Web interface, you can access your gmail via a mail client with
either POP3 or my choice, IMAP.

The login in WLMail does not log you into WLMail but to Windows Live
services ( Messenger, Calendar, Contacts, ...).
The live login is not the login for your Hotmail account. It can be the
same login, but cancelling one is not going to cancel the other.
I didn't know that it was possible to cancel a Hotmail account.

Windows Live Mail is an email client which can be uninstalled.

Creating a new Windows Live ID creates an email account for one of these types of Hotmail accounts(Hotmail.com, Live.com, Msn.com)
Registering a non Hotmail type email address as a Live ID does not create an Hotmail account(email address or Inbox)

If you do nothing
<qp>
Free Windows Live Hotmail accounts become inactive if you don't sign in for more than 270 days or within the first 10 days after
signing up for an account. After an account becomes inactive, all messages, folders, and contacts are deleted. Incoming messages
will be sent back to the sender as undeliverable. Your account name is still reserved. However, if the account stays inactive for
an additional 90 days, the account name may be permanently deleted. If you don't use your Windows Live ID ( The user name and
password that you use to sign in to any Windows Live, MSN, or Office Live sites and services. If you have a Passport Network,
Hotmail, or Messenger account, you can use it as your Windows Live ID. ) for 365 days, your Windows Live ID may be permanently
deleted.
</qp>

Alternative:
To close both a Hotmail account and Live ID see below(and perform the steps in the order shown)

1. Close A Hotmail account
http://mail.live.com/default.aspx?r...wsignin1.0
- login with the username/pw, then click close

2. Cancel a Live ID
Go to account.live.com to cancel the Live ID

I hated WLM. nothing worked on it. I went back to using Windows Mail instead.
Working just fine now for over a year!

"Nothing worked on it"?
Seems like a bit of an overstatement. My guess is that 95% of users
find Windows Live Mail quite useful. Are they all wrong?
