Hi All,

We have the following configuration in a Multibox environment :

Box 1 : BizTalk Server 2006 R2, Windows Server 2003 R2 - 32bit
Enterprise Edition(SP2).

Box 2/3 : SQL Server Cluster with 2 nodes SQL Server 2005 Enteprise
Edition 64-bit vers. 30.51, Windows Server 2003 R2 64-bit. , MS-DTC
Clustered.

When we run the BizTalk Configuration manager it fails when it
configure the BizTalk Groups.

BizTalk Setup creates several databases only it fails on the Groups.
The test with DTCTester was succesfull. We get the following error
message :

Does anyone know what is going on here ? Is it the MS DTC clustered
resource ? or 32 bit / 64 - bit. Please let me know your experiences.

All the groups and accounts are configured in Active Directory. Box 1
and Box 2 are

Hello,
Sounds to me like you have a DTC problem and it's probably because of
security settings on the servers

Go to Component Services in Administrative Tools and go to MSDTC right
the My Computer below the Component Services ->Computers area and
select Properties. From there go to MSDTC then Security
Configuration. You'll need to allow network DTC access, which is now
turned off by default. Also, if you use GPOs you may run into other
issues I can tell you about. Try this first, make all the servers
involved settings' match, then try to configure again. Please let me
know if you need more help, you can even email me. I've been through
this a million times and it can be a bit complex.
Kind Regards,
-Dan

Solved. The trick was :

The issue regarding the MS DTC service account information should be
resolved by giving proper permission to network service account for
DTC services as per following steps.

Step 1: Download a tool called SUBINACL from the link below:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...laylang=en

Step 2: Open a command prompt and run the following command:
subinacl /service msdtc /grant="Network Service"=QSETIL

The meaning of the letters (can be found as well in the subinacl.htm
file in the subinacl’s installation folder):
Q : Query Service Configuration
S : Query Service Status
E : Enumerate Dependent Services
T : Start Service
I : Interrogate Service
L : Read Control

Finally please run the following command on each node : subinacl /
service msdtc /grant="Network Service"=QSETIL
