Issues with SBS not restarting after latest MS Updates

I have had 2 servers running SBS 2003 that I work remotely that will not
restart properly after the last round of updates were applied to them this
morning (11/1/08). If anyone has any info on what patch is causing this, I
would love to hear from you. here is the list of updates that were applied
prior to the reboot.

Have you added the registered ports entries in the registry?

It's not this patch.

It's that you are missing the port exclusions.

Either that or it's the TS no restart thing. Dave, is there anyone on the
sites who can verify if the server seems to be functioning normally? Can
you initiate a restart using the shutdown command from a client PC, or have
someone log into the console and do it?

There's been an issue when patching remotely - you apply the patches and
click "restart now," and the server appears to respond normally but doesn't
restart. In that instance, the only likely symptom is that you can't
reconnect using RDP. The server needs to be rebooted either using the
shutdown command, or from a local login. If that's what you're seeing, the
patches won't be applied properly until the server is actually started, and
you won't have remote access until then either.
