A 41-megapixel Nokia smartphone was among the new technology on show
during the opening day of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The 808 Pureview offers enhanced low-light performance as well as
sophisticated image compression designed to help users share pictures.

Nokia hopes to regain ground lost to Google and Apple in the mobile
market.

However, some have criticised Nokia's decision to use its own
operating system, Symbian, on the device.

Symbian! What happened to WP7? Not capable? :-)

Probably not actually. I know there are some resolution limitations in
wp7 because it is based on the Window CE kernel.

Never fear, Nokia has said the technology is comming to windows phone.
So, I assume that they will bring it with WP8 (Apollo). Which is
probably going to be based on the windows 8 kernel - removing most of
the current restrictions imposed by CE.
