Can I just say: finally. Finally. This isn’t stricly an Android story,
but NBC’s decision to dump Microsoft’s proprietary steaming
technology, Silverlight, is a win for every single Android user who
wants to watch the Olympics. Why? Because they’re switching to
YouTube, Google’s very own video playground that’s deeply integrated
into (almost) every Android phone and tablet. In addition to making
Android sports fans the world over happy, it’s going to save millions
of Internet citizens the hassle of installing the Silverlight plugin…
which they haven’t needed since two years ago, when the last Olympics
made use of it.

<chuckle>

I always wake up at the crack of ice.

Praise the Lord. That was so fscking obnoxious. "Only users of
Microshit products can view these videos."

"Why should they support the tiny 1% who wish to be different?" -

Microsoft products to access government services

The guy is an idiot to think that Sliverlight is just for watching
videos. I am sure MS doesn't care if NBC uses Silverlight or not, since
Sliverlight is more than video streaming.

Ahlstrom's ignorance is bliss.

Big Stool is an idiot and a liar for making such a claim.

I am sure MS doesn't care if NBC uses Silverlight or not,

Yet more lying. M$ has *always* "cared" about getting the world to
use their proprietary "standards". While some are more successful
than others, they all serve the purpose of maintaining Microsoft's
lock on the desktop market.

since Sliverlight is more than video streaming.

Nice "logic". Also, he knew that.

Idiocy and lies is all you have, Big Stool.

Ahlstrom's ignorance is bliss.

Your lies are obvious.

Man please, I had an interview for a contract with PNC Bank recently
that has Sliverlight enterprise level Intranet applications. There are a
lot of companies that are using Sliverlight in enterprise level Intranet
applications over Windows or ASP.NET forms. The new boy is WPF that is
being used in Intranet enterprise level .NET solutions.

Sliverlight is not going away anytime soon.
