NT4 Server installation kit...

Howdy, y'all,

Thinking about installing NT4 Server on an old dual-processor (PentiumPro
200MHz) Compaq ProLiant 800 server to support a small Oracle (9iR2)
development project. HP provides drivers and docs for NT4 on this box, so no
issues there.

The NT4 installation media have been lying around for a while; just wanna
make that I have everything, because can't find anything with a product key.
I have the NT Server NOS installation CD (1-4 processors, including x86,
MIPS, Alpha, etc.), the SP4 CD, and 3 setup diskettes. Also have the training
kit CDs with a 120-day limited evaluation version of NT4 Server.

Is there anything else required to complete a legally-licensed installation
of NT4 Server?

Thanx kindly.

APJ in NorCal.

Just purchased NT4 Server client access licenses on eBay, so that should be
everything that I need. Correct?

TIA,

APJ.

Without a Product Key you won't be able to install NT4 Server.

Thanx for your note, JJ. Yup; that's what I thought. If I can start the
installation before the CALs purchased on eBay arrive, I'll use the eval
distribution.

But something else occurs to me. Can't the eval version be licensed as a
legal multi-user installation with the input of CALs?

The Client Access Licenses (CALs) and the server license & Product ID
number are two different things, I don't know what you bought on Ebay
but as far as I know CALs don't come with free server licenses & Product
IDs, you need a valid server license to use the CALs.
