0001) Ubuntu is distributed by Canonical. If you don't like what
Canonical are doing with Ubuntu or where they are going with Ubuntu or
if you have any other ethical / political problems with that, take it
up with them (or go elsewhere).
0010) Ubuntu is aimed at the desktop using masses. Now, if you don't
like the idea of Linux being 'dumbed down' (translation, 'made
easier') so that it should appeal to the masses, take it up with
Canonical (or go elsewhere).
0011) "75% of Ubuntu users also use Windows." So, if that offends you,
take it up with Canonical (or go elsewhere).
0100) "Ubuntu isn't Windows". Yup, as those of us who also use Windows
but might like to use Ubuntu instead or more know all too well,
especially if they happen to have any hardware that wasn't ever
'designed for' Linux and that isn't supported. If you have any
problems with that, please take it up with Canonical (or go
elsewhere).
0101) Ubuntu is primarily a GUI based OS. With Canonical defaulting to
Unity, a solution that is designed to be touch driven on tablets and
smart phones, that is even more the case. So, if you prefer the CLI
then take it up with Canonical (or go elsewhere).
0110) Ubuntu, being targeted to attract Windows users and potential
switchers is going to attract more 'ordinary users' who are used to
having things pretty easy. So, this is exactly what they are going to
look for within Ubuntu. If you don't like or agree with that, take it
up with Canonical (or go elsewhere).
0111) There is no mention of 'having to read the manual' on the
Canonical Ubuntu web site when it comes to using Ubuntu (In fact, I
don't think a manual was available for 12.04 till just recently). If
an OS is properly designed it should need much in the way of a manual
to make it useable by ordinary users. If you disagree with this,
please take it up with Canonical (or go elsewhere).
1000) Ubuntu, a specific distribution aimed at Windows users and
potential switchers will mean that many people will be asking
questions in the various Ubuntu newsgroups and forums who will not
have any history or previous experience with Linux, nor be willing /
interested in taking up Ubuntu as anything more than an alternative
desktop OS / solution. If you don't agree or like this, contact
Canonical (or go elsewhere).
1001) Ubuntu can be configured during installation (GUI) to install
'Alongside your existing OS'. This means that Canonical are ready,
willing and happy for anyone to run Ubuntu as an alternative or
alongside other OS's. This could also and would most likely include
Windows. If you do not like, understand or agree with this, please
contact Canonical (or go somewhere else).
1010) If you do not like, agree or accept any of the above, please
take it up with Canonical (or go somewhere else).
