Alt + F4 will close the top window, repeat as needed. <Windowskey>
+ d will minimize everything, then you can close groups.

I don't know that this is any easier than G. Morgan's suggestion, but it
is an alternate way to close multiple programs. Open Task Manager and
select the Applications tab. Select the apps you want to close
(shft-click or ctrl-click for multiple selections), and hit the End Task
button. This method is more selective and allows leaving some programs
running, if desired.

I always thought Mensa was a Japanese import.

Google for a program called "CloseAll". It's only 36K and doesn't need
installation.
when you click on it, it closes ALL the open windows.

I'm asking myself "What are these WINDOWS"? Do you mean someone
installed applications that keep running at startup? If so then find
out what they are and eradicate them.

Logoff.
Logon.

Not only will you close all those programs, you'll have the startup
items running that you normally want running.

Why are you letting your kids use your Windows account? Why don't they
have their own accounts? Better yet, give them their own computers to
fuck up while yours remains immune.
