Is there any connection between Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Messenger
in sending mail or posting to newsgroups? Can I uninstall Windows Live
Messenger? There is a bug in Windows Live Mail.

Thank you,
David

Windows Live Messenger is an IM client.
Windows Live Mail is an email and newsgroup client

Both have a common database for contacts and share other components.

Why do you wish to uninstall Messenger if you believe you've a bug in Windows Live Mail ?
