WMP 11 doesn'r see all my music

I have a cd ripped with WMP 11 to my hard drive using wav format.

When I have WMP 11 scan for my music it sees the album but won't list the
first song and has the 11th song at the end.

Theere is another album where the 16th song is missing.

When I go to my computer to the folder, the all the songs are listed.

I delete the album and do a "add to library", it comes back as before.

ANy suggestions why it is doing this?

Thanks

I am adding this information in addition to the info for my first post. It
seems a number of albums are missing the first song when added to the
library. I have a mix of albums ripped using wav format and WMA 128bit. It
seems the albums missing the first song were ripped into wav format.

Does this help in figuring out why it is doing this?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm pretty sure that you should be able to find the missing songs in the
library, possibly under "Unknown Artist". If you can't find them there,
you can also use WMP's Folder view. If you can't see the Folder view
item, right-click Library on the left and select Show More Views.

Using the WAV format can lead to problems like this, because WAV has
almost no (standard) support for tags. WMP will set some tags in the WAV
file when ripping, but even that doesn't always work (as you can see
here). Moreover, you can't change the tags afterwards. I would recommend
to rip to a format that does allow proper tagging, such as MP3 or WMA.

Tagging WAV is a problem.
WMP is no exception to this rule.
It won’t write tags in WAV except a very few when ripping a CD.
If you move a WAV to another computer you will notice that most of the info
you see in the library is not carried over.
I suggest to switch to a lossless format with full tagging support
