A moving history for a predictable company. We can resume its life with the phrase “the life of Apple”. Started by two talented young men at the end of the 1970s with the goal of bringing the computer to the general public, this philosophy has remained in the company the whole time, even during the unproductive years of the 1990’s.
Since the return of the prodigal son Jobs, and with the help of Microsoft, the Titanic has re-floated and is going better then ever. Thanks to a bank balance that is estimated at 6 billion dollars, Apple can take some risks, self finance its projects and guarantee its future. A future which remains more then ever anchored in the easy use and appearance of its computers. A way of attracting those who are less attracted by big grey boxes finally seems to bear fruit.
We don’t doubt for a minute the strategy of Apple – namely the digital hub – and see what surprises are revealed this year. With the Mac mini quieter then ever, Front Row which is taking its first steps, the music duo of iPod/ITMS, AirTunes which is likely to be distribute video everywhere soon using wireless technology and their audio / video production software. Apple will continue to use its talents to provide us with simple products, creating synergies and making it (finally) possible to insert the computer into the living room.
But this isn’t the object of this file ;)
