Automatically place mouse cursor on ok button

February 11th, 2007 - 06:00 pm ET by D. T.

You have probably noticed that when a pop up box appears on the screen, you can press Enter on the keyboard so as to close it instantly. The input of the keyboard actually points to the “OK” button in the window by default. If you are more adept at clicking and you want to have this same function enabled by default with the mouse, here is how it can be done.

First of all you press the “Start” button at the bottom left and then select “Control Panel”.

Menu Démarrer Panneau de configuration

In the window that appears, click on the “Mouse” icon. Once this has opened, select the “Pointer Options” tab and then check the “Snap to” box in the middle of the page. Press “Apply” and “OK” and everything will be done.

You will now see that the mouse cursor will go over the top of a dialogue box automatically whenever one opens, and will be pointing directly at the OK button.
