Aztec Systems ranked 84th as Southern Methodist University’s
Caruth Institute of Entrepreneurship announced the 21st
annual Dallas 100 Awards at the Meyerson Symphony Center. The ranking is
based on the private companies with the largest percentage sales
increase and dollar growth from 2008 to 2010 in North Texas.
“We are delighted to be #84 on the Dallas 100. We are enjoying
successful year-over-year 30% growth,” says Aztec CEO, Andrew Levi.
“We’ve grown both organically and by merger/acquisition, completing
three significant transactions over the past three years. We continue to
bring innovation to our customers to help them maximize return on
technology investments.” Andrew Levi continued, “We have had a great
period of exciting growth since 2008 which continues in 2011. Our
success in less-than-ideal economic times has been the result of our
commitment to being a great partner for all of our clients. It’s
important that the entire Aztec team is always considering how to
optimize the business technology solutions employed by our clients and
to help them make the best decisions for their business objectives.”

Other honors Aztec has received this year include ranking #2457 on INC
500|5000 and 31st on the Accounting Today VAR 100
list of top accounting and ERP software resellers.
Dallas 100™, founded by SMU Cox Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship,
honors the ingenuity, commitment and perseverance of the fastest growing
privately-held entrepreneurial businesses in Dallas. The Dallas 100
companies combined created 7,626 jobs, grew an average of 208 percent
and generated total revenue of more than $6.2 billion in the last three
years. To qualify for the Dallas 100, a company must meet a number of
criteria based on its legal status, location, sales history, credit
report, and character and submit to ranking calculations by the
accounting firm BKD CPAs and Advisors.
More than 1,000 guests filled the Meyerson Symphony Center for the
evening, which included a keynote address by Phil Romano, CEO of Romano
Concepts, who told the audience that "the country's economic success
depends on their success as entrepreneurs." A complete list of all
Dallas 100™ companies, ranked from one to 100, can be found at http://mediaman.cox.smu.edu/detail/2011-dallas-100-announced.
“Entrepreneurs are the fundamental change agents and rejuvenators of an
economy,” said Jerry White, director of the Caruth Institute for
Entrepreneurship. “They derive innovation, build companies, create jobs
and build the wealth of the nation.” The unsung heroes of our economy
are the entrepreneurs who build their own businesses and create jobs as
fast as large companies eliminate them. While entrepreneurs are the
engines of growth in our economy, they often go unrecognized. The Dallas
100™ was created to correct this injustice. The founders originally
conceived of the event in 1990, in the midst of another economically
challenging time for the country, with the goal of shining the spotlight
on the good news about fast-growth Dallas companies. The event continues
to recognize privately held corporations, proprietorships or
partnerships headquartered in Dallas that don't otherwise get attention,
but which have created jobs and generated wealth for their founders and
employees.
