Review Backup
Comparison of System Backup solutions

Your Windows restore system doesn’t work, your PC will no longer boot and there is nothing you can do to fix the problem meaning that the only solution is to reinstall the system and there is no guarantee that your data will be safe. Such problems exist and it is for this reason that emergency backup programs for your system exist. Less expensive then RAID, these programs will reinstall all of your programs with just a few clicks.

RestoreIT 7

http://www.farstone.com/
OS: Windows 2000/XP
Supported file systems: FAT 16/32, NTFS, EXT 2/3 and Linux SWAP
Average price: 55 dollars

A lot more complete then DriveClone, also developed by Farstone, RestoreIt 7 is simple to use and allowsz you to create and store complete image files, differentials and incremental on a hidden partition that is completely autonomous. During installation, like with Norton Ghost 10, a first complete image of the system is taken. The interface is quite simple and intuitive, which even allows beginners to be able to use this software, although we still prefer Paragon’s True Image. For the rest, RestoreIt 7 is loaded during Windows startup allowing you to backup and restore your system if required. This offers the advantage of being able to load a removable recovery disk, except if the hard drive fails. Unfortunately, this load with the system leads to Windows taking considerably longer to start and it is also a shame that it is impossible to manually load SATA RAID drivers in the event your hardware is not supported. Nevertheless, Restore IT is the program that Intel has decided to implement on their motherboards in the P965 and 975x chipsets, and Windows Vista is even supported.
