If you would like to get rid of the advertising that appears when you connect to the Facebook site, you should know that an extension has been developed for the Firefox web browser (and its derivatives) which will allow you to get rid of this once and for all.
Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Complimentary modules".

In the displayed page, select the "Catalogue" section. Enter "Facebook boost" in the search field and click on the magnifying glass icon to start the search. The "Boost for Facebook" extensions will be offered, so click on the "Add to Firefox" button next to it.

You will be asked if you want to install it. Once you have done so, restart the Web browser.

Once you have restarted the applications, the additional modules window will be displayed. Select "Boost for Facebook" and click on the "Options" button. From here, you simply have to select the "Homepage" tab, check the "Remove Right Column" option and validate to see the results.

The right column with its targeted advertising will now be history.
