Bug#411019: /var/run is now a tmpfs by default

July 29th, 2011 - 05:20 pm ET by Stephen Kitt | Report spam

severity 411019 serious
thanks

Hi,

As per policy 9.3.2, "/var/run and /var/lock may be mounted as temporary
filesystems[73], so the init.d scripts must handle this correctly." As I
understand it this bug is serious, especially now that /var/run is a tmpfs by
default...

Regards,

Stephen
