Bug#604610: xboard: crash resizing engine window

November 22nd, 2010 - 10:40 pm ET by Ian Zimmerman | Report spam
Package: xboard
Version: 4.4.3-1
Severity: normal

Resizing the Engine Output window vertically is seriously broken.

First, only the bottom half seems to be expanded when enlarging,
and only the top half seems to be shrinking when shrinking.
Eventually, when I shrank the whole window enough that the top half
vanished, the whole game crashed. This is the tail of .xsession-errors:

X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 12 (X_ConfigureWindow)
Value in failed request: 0x0
Serial number of failed request: 87921
Current serial number in output stream: 87952
Error: Null argument to command: resize-window-interactively

Debian Release: squeeze/sid

I confirm this bug. However, this seems to be fixed in the development version.

You can try the latest snapshot (which is not yet in Debian) or compile from the
master branch in the git repository.

Best Regards,
Vincent
