Bug#624361: /usr/lib/lazarus/0.9.30/lazbuild: lazbuild should probably depend on fp-utils

April 27th, 2011 - 03:50 pm ET by Paul Gevers | Report spam
This is an OpenPGP/MIME signed message (RFC 2440 and 3156)

Package: lcl-utils-0.9.30
Version: 0.9.30-1
Severity: important

My package winff, which builds using lazbuild recently fails to build
from source [1][2], with the following error:

winff.lpr(48,1) Error: resource compiler "fpcres" not found, switching
to external mode

After installing fp-utils, which contains fpcres, my build works fine,
so I think the package containing lazbuild should depend on fp-utils. Or
maybe some other package in the dependency tree.

I think that moving fpcres to fp-compiler is more consistent as the
compiler does not work anymore correctly without it. It should be
considered as an internal compiler tool rather than a helper tool. It
will also allow minimizing the compiler requirements.

What do you think?

Cheers,
