Bug#636111: Cannot login

August 01st, 2011 - 03:50 pm ET by Cesare Leonardi | Report spam
I think the reason i can't login with lightdm is the same you are
discussing in this bug.

I insert username and password, leave the session blank as proposed and
after a bit of work, the login prompt is displayed again, without any
error message.

I use Gnome, but the log says that lightdm is trying to load XFCE. The
auth phase looks successful.
I haven't make further tests.

If you think it would be useful, i'll attach
/var/log/lightdm/lightdm.log. It doesn't seems to expose any usable
sensitive auth data, isn't it?

Cesare.

If you use GNOME, you should have a GNOME session in the list. You might
miss the correct package though (no idea how it's called).
