Bug#637638: bibus: Debian package recommends openoffice.org-writer

August 13th, 2011 - 06:10 am ET by Mirosław Zalewski | Report spam
Package: bibus
Version: 1.5.1-3
Severity: minor

bibus Debian package recommends openoffice.org-writer package.
OpenOffice packages are transition packages, which will probably get
deleted after release of Wheezy. bibus should recommend
libreoffice-writer before that happens.

Debian Release: wheezy/sid
APT prefers testing
APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable')
Architecture: amd64 (x86_64)

Kernel: Linux 3.0.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores)
Locale: LANG=pl_PL.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to pl_PL.UTF-8)
Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash

thanks for taking the time to report this issue.
I'm fully aware of this and this problem is already "solved" in the SVN repository where the packaging of the next bibus version is waiting. But it is actually just that - waiting. I was hoping for either a new bibus version or at least for some interesting patches in the sourceforge patch tracker (and there are actually many) to settle for quite some time now.
But since some time, real life is keeping me busy so I didn't follow up on that too eagerly. But I will take your report as a push to ask upstream bibus maintainer whether and when a new bibus version might be coming. If it should be too far in the future I can as well upload what I have, to fix this issue.

Thanks again!

Best regards,
Jan
