Bug#646777: libudt-dev: Installs generically named headers into /usr/include

October 26th, 2011 - 11:10 pm ET by Guillem Jover | Report spam
Package: libudt-dev
Version: 4.8-1
Severity: important

Hi!

This packages installs header files with extremely generic file names
directly under /usr/include/. Given the namepsace polluting nature of
the bug I'd even say this might be serious severity, but I'm hesitant
to abuse severity inflation, in any case IMO this should not propagate
further into a stable release. The current list is:

libudt-dev: /usr/include/api.h
libudt-dev: /usr/include/buffer.h
libudt-dev: /usr/include/cache.h
libudt-dev: /usr/include/ccc.h
libudt-dev: /usr/include/channel.h
libudt-dev: /usr/include/common.h
libudt-dev: /usr/include/core.h
libudt-dev: /usr/include/epoll.h
libudt-dev: /usr/include/list.h
libudt-dev: /usr/include/md5.h
libudt-dev: /usr/include/packet.h
libudt-dev: /usr/include/queue.h
libudt-dev: /usr/include/udt
libudt-dev: /usr/include/udt.h
libudt-dev: /usr/include/window.h

please move those under a subdirectory, for example /usr/include/udt/.

thanks,
guillem

I completely agree, I will fix this.
