Bug#678251: gnome-shell: sometimes crashes instead of suspending

June 20th, 2012 - 06:10 am ET by Daniel Stone | Report spam
Package: gnome-shell
Version: 3.4.1-6
Severity: important

Hi,
Somtimes when I close the lid, my entire GNOME session (so, could be
Shell or something else - not sure) dies and dumps me back at the GDM
login screen, so my laptop remains on draining its battery with the lid
shut, rather than suspended.

Happens probably one time in 4.

Cheers,
Daniel

We will need a bit more information that.
A backtrace would helpful.
Anything relevant in ~/.xsession-errors or the system logs?
What kind of grahics hardware / drivers do you use?

Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the
universe are pointed away from Earth?
