Bug#680963: network-manager-gnome: Cannot connect to VPN with nm-applet

July 09th, 2012 - 10:50 am ET by Florian | Report spam
Package: network-manager-gnome
Version: 0.9.4.1-1+b1
Severity: normal

Selecting a VPN connection in nm-applet does nothing, no dialog pops up.

syslog shows the following:

NetworkManager[1962]: <error> [1341843562.484828] [nm-vpn-connection.c:934] get_secrets_cb(): Failed to request VPN s
ecrets #3: (6) No agents were available for this request.

This happens for both vpnc and openconnect.

This seems to be
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+...bug/985788
and the method described in comment 10 works for me:

killall gnome-shell
killall nm-applet
nm-applet &
gnome-shell &

After that the VPN dialog shows up when selecting a VPN connection in nm-applet.

thanks, Florian
