Bug#683840: RFS: razorqt/0.4.1-1~exp1 [ITP]

August 04th, 2012 - 04:10 pm ET by Bart Martens | Report spam
Hi Manuel,

The package name is "razor-qt" on the ITP and "razorqt" on the RFS and at
mentors. Why the difference ?

Regards,

Bart Martens

Hi Bart,

Hi Manuel,

Initially I was using "razor-qt", then tried to follow upstream's
recent names in Ubuntu's PPA:

https://launchpad.net/~razor-qt/+archive/ppa/

I don't know why they decided to change, though.

There are some advantages in not having the dash and those making
"razorqt" a "unit", for example, that it doesn't look like "Qt's
interface for package Razor", or that it helps to shorten package
names in general (eg razorqt-policykit-agent instead of
razor-qt-policykit-agent).

But in short, there's no strong reason.

Cheers.
