Canon Information and Imaging Solutions, Inc., today announced the
planned introduction of a new cloud-based application, Forms and Print
Services for Salesforce. This new application will allow users to create
highly visual and attention-grabbing reports and forms, and easily print
them without the need for any print drivers*. The Forms and Print
Services application is scheduled to be available on the AppExchange
in January 2012 and will be offered both individually and as a bundled
monthly package subscription, payable on an annual basis.
The Forms and Print Services for Salesforce application is the result of
a direct integration between Salesforce and the Canon Business Imaging
Online cloud service, thereby giving end users convenient access to the
forms and print functions through a single button operation simply by
logging into their Salesforce account.
“We are extremely excited to participate in Dreamforce 2011 and to
exhibit our new Canon Forms and Print Services for Salesforce solution
which will significantly enhance users’ ability to generate and access
visually appealing output,” said Seymour Liebman, president, Canon
Information & Imaging Solutions, Inc. “This solution represents the
commercial introduction of many new exciting and emerging technologies
currently under development by our newly formed company.”
“Customers coming to Dreamforce will have a chance to see how partners
like Canon exemplify the extraordinary reach of the AppExchange
marketplace,” said Ron Huddleston, vice president, ISV Alliances, salesforce.com.
“Apps like these continue to push the social, open, mobile and trusted
capabilities customers expect from the salesforce.com
ecosystem.”
The overall solution will consist of two primary components:
-
Forms Service will be utilized to design visually impactful yet highly
sophisticated form templates capable of dynamically presenting the
underlying Salesforce data**.
-
Print Services will allow users to print the resulting templates, such
as sales reports, cost estimates, inventory reports, or account
profiles, directly to a designated Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE
multifunction printer or as a PDF to any multifunction or laser
printer**.
Because the services will be delivered in the cloud, there is no need to
install any print drivers nor perform various settings on the PC.
Additionally, mobile users will be able to easily retrieve their
selected print jobs from the cloud simply by logging into their
Salesforce account from their mobile device or directly from the panel
of a Canon image RUNNER ADVANCE multifunction printer.
Dreamforce 2011 is the cloud computing event of the year. The ninth
annual conference will welcome more than 30,000 customers, partners and
developers to the new world of the social enterprise. With more than 450
sessions and 250 cloud companies in the expo, Dreamforce offers the
content and educational opportunities that enable attendees to tap into
the power of the social enterprise.
