Canto Names Customer of the Year, 2011

Canto, maker of Canto Cumulus digital asset management (DAM) software, has named Andrew Mannone of America’s Test Kitchen as the DAM vendor’s “Customer of the Year” for 2011. Mannone learned of his win while co-hosting Canto’s “Avoiding the Dangers of Digital Asset Management” webinar in late January.

“Andrew is Canto’s 2011 Customer of the Year largely because of his valuable, ongoing contributions to the Cumulus community,” said Canto Marketing Director, David Diamond. “Surprising Andrew during the webinar enabled hundreds of Cumulus users from around the world to be on hand for the announcement, which seemed appropriate.”

Diamond said that upon the announcement, the webinar comments window flooded with congratulatory messages from Cumulus users Mannone had helped in the Canto User Forums, a Canto-hosted online community Mannone frequents.

“It’s my pleasure to participate in the Canto User Forums because I get so much information and inspiration back from the people I meet there,” said Mannone. “The Cumulus community is full of nice people who also happen to be great resources.”

Also cited as reasons for the win were Mannone’s participation in trade shows and the media, and cooperation with Canto Engineering that lead to Cumulus improvements that boosted performance for larger-scale, sophisticated Cumulus systems like the one Mannone manages at America’s Test Kitchen.

Mannone sat on a discussion panel at last year’s Createasphere digital asset management conference, where Canto won its “DAMMY of the Year” award. In addition, he has been featured on the popular “Another DAM Podcast” website.

Canto CTO and DAMMY winner, Thomas Schleu, summed up Canto’s appreciation for Mannone during the webinar: “If Andrew Mannone prefers Canto Cumulus, we must be doing something right!”
