change the media player "hide" setting

If you are very good, you'll come back in the next life with enough
caution to avoid ever checking one of those "don't do xxx again"
boxes.

I'm sorry that I can't help you. Reinstalling a clean copy of Windows
would do the job, the hard part is finding something less than that,
which will do the job.

Have you tried System Restore? That's probably an easier prospect than
having to be good for the rest of your life on the off chance.
