This is one of the rare anti-spam programs that runs under Windows XP and Vista, with Vade Retro Desktop being compatible with MS Outlook, Outlook Express and Windows Mail. Like with SpamAware, a good looking toolbar is successfully integrated into Outlook during the installation. In our case this “scan” of the folders found spam that had been missed in the Inbox as well as advertising emails which we wanted to keep. There is a green list which you can manually add reliable contacts to, unfortunately though it is impossible to import directly from your address book! To make the learning reliable, the best is to check the option “Create from destination”. Also, each message that you send will automatically be added to the green list.
