In the results window, the results are summarized, sometimes down to a simple word. To search for a word, we typed in a phonetic word of “oindre” which provided us with “enduire”, a hyperlink that we could then click on which lead us to “recouvrir”, etc. A positive point is that it was the only dictionary to directly recognize conjugated verbs and plural forms.

We can then reference the synonym dictionary at any time which will provide us with results that can be copy and pasted into another application. This is the same for conjugated words.

In the event you make a mistake, the auto correct is your best friend!
The synonyms allow you to vary your vocabulary and enrich your writing… Use it to your advantage!

It is possible to change the font and size depending on your taste. Ultralingua knows how to translate numbers into letters which can be practical if you need to fill in a cheque or legal contract.

You will also find the “hotkey” which allows you to click on a word in any application. The advanced search with wildcards is also very useful for letter games (crosswords etc) with the functions being numerous with * to indicate “no characters or more”, + to indicate “one character or more” and ? for “a single character”…

There are no real bonus features, but there are some add-ons that are rather practical. You can search the main bilingual dictionaries, French-English, Spanish-English, German-English as well as the spell and grammar checker… and all for 28.50$.
