Review Graphics cards
A comparison between ATI and nVidia video cards for gamers

If in the field of office use, the Internet and multimedia, most video cards on the market more then meet our requirements, with people wishing to perform video editing requiring something more powerful. But with the consequent reduction in prices after the launch of the first DirectX 10 compatible GPU by nVidia, and the always present number of other makers, it is very difficult to choose a video card that meets your needs. This is what we will be looking at in this article.

Oblivion
The references for fans of role playing games, Oblivion is technically superb and is made even better with the Knight of Nine add on. But unlike with the integrated benchmark test, we did our own trip around outside so as to better reproduce our tests.

With Oblivion, the performance is quite equal; with a slight advantage going to the 7950GT and 7950GT KO overclocked being more at ease with the FSAA 6X. Just like with the previous tests, the Radeon X1900XT is still in front, but it should be noted that with the nVidia cards is not possible to activate the options provided with HDR and FSAA, but it was on the ATI cards.

Once again, and despite its good performance, the performance difference cant justify the price of the 7950GX2 compared to the X1950XTX which is a more interesting choice, with its different filters.

TrackMania Nations ECWC

Greatly loved, TrackMania Nations has the particularity of being completely free and designed specially for the video games world cup. Before looking at the games technical quality, we have chosen to integrate it into our tests.

More at ease with the ATI cards which display better at 1280 x 1024 with the filters activated, the X1900XT managed to perform exactly the same as the 7950GX2. In 1600 x 1200 with the filters activated, the X1950XTX offers the best performance which second is taken by the 7950GT and X1950Pro, with the 7900GS and GT bringing up the rear.
