Configure the keyboard shortcuts for VLC

Like a large number of programs, the opensource media player VLC can be controlled completely with the keyboard thanks to a number of shortcuts. But what if the offered shortcuts don’t suit you? Then why not change them.

Once you are in the program, got to the “Settings” menu and click on “Preferences”. You should note that you can also access this with the [CTRL +S] keyboard shortcut.

In the tree on the left, find the “Interface” section and select “Shortcut settings”. From here, it is possible to change the default keyboard shortcuts. Combinations with the CTRL, ALT and SHIFT keys in combination with letters, numbers or symbols are on offer for each actions (play, pause, stop, increase volume, etc). You can then choose the actions that suit you best.
