Convenience Transportation LLC, the petroleum and grocery haulage arm of
Kwik Trip Stores, Inc., has bought an integrated delivery routing and
scheduling system from Paragon Software Systems, Inc., (http://www.paragonrouting.com).
The new system integrates vehicle tracking, resource management and
digital mapping with advanced transportation management software,
allowing both strategic and dynamic route planning among other benefits.
Convenience Transportation will use the Paragon solution to reduce
costs, while improving driver and truck resource use to gain new
efficiencies.
Convenience Transportation, headquartered in La Crosse, Wisconsin,
delivers fuel, groceries and fresh produce to Kwik Trip stores
throughout Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota using a mixed fleet of 300
trucks. The system will improve planning capabilities by providing
accurate and realistic routes and schedules that reduce road miles and
driver duty time. It is hoped that better utilization of the existing
fleet will be possible, enabling more deliveries to be made with current
vehicles. Using the system, managers will be able to monitor fleet and
delivery performance and have a clearer view of actual driver hours.
Better planning for vehicle maintenance will also be possible.
Paragon Software Systems is a market leader in transportation
optimization with over 1,500 routing and scheduling systems installed in
more than 33 countries. Paragon helps companies reduce transport costs
by up to 20 per cent through more efficient deployment of vehicles and
