Debian 3.1 Sarge and Powerware 5110 UPS,what software do i use?

Hi

I bought a Powerware 5110 with USB connection for my Debian 3.1 Sarge
system. Does anyone have any experience with this UPS? I need directions
for how to install drivers and what software to use. Of course Powerware
don't have any drivers for Debian yet..
The link to the UPS is http://www.powerware.com/EMEA/UPS/5110_UPS.asp

What first and foremost need is an unattended shutdown of the system if
the power goes down for a longer period of time. Later on I would like
to be able to broadcast a shutdown to other machines as well. But
unattended shutdown of the Debian machine directly machine is my primary
goal for now.

Hope someone can help me out with this :)

NUT (short for Network UPS Tools, http://www.networkupstools.org/) does
everything you ask and supports the Powerware 5110 throuugh its included
bcmxcp_usb driver. Better still, it's in Debian so 'apt-get install nut
nut-usb' is all you need to do to install it. You'll need to configure
it after that, of course. Docs pertaining to that will be installed to
/usr/share/doc/nut (and nut-usb) as usual with any Debian package.

If you need help configuring it, post here again.
