Variety is pleased to announce that director/producer Ivan Reitman and
Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak will
keynote its Film Marketing Summit, running Oct. 4-5, at the Universal
Hilton, in Studio City.
Over his decades of success in this industry, Reitman has filmed many of
our biggest blockbusters, including Ghostbusters, Stripes, Animal
House, Dave and Twins. More recently, Reitman produced
the Oscar-nominated feature Up in the Air, which was directed by
his son Jason Reitman. This year, Ivan Reitman directed the hit comedy No
Strings Attached, starring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher, and
will also see his Ghostbusters get re-released in theaters this
October.
Reitman will participate in the Keynote Q&A on Oct. 5.
Sherak, who is serving his third consecutive term as AMPAS President,
has spent four decades in film in various marketing, production and
distribution leadership roles. He previously was chairman of Twentieth
Century Fox Domestic Film Group and partner at Revolution Studios.
Sherak will participate in the Keynote Q&A on Oct. 4.
Over the course of its two days, movie marketing chiefs and their
technology partners will explore how to best target today’s audiences
for box office success, including seeking new opportunities in reaching
fans across growing numbers of platforms and devices.
Headlining a ‘State of the Business’ panel discussion on Oct. 4 are Sue
Kroll, President of Worldwide Marketing at Warner Bros. Pictures; Oren
Aviv, President of Domestic Marketing/Chief Marketing Officer at
Twentieth Century Fox; Anne Globe, Worldwide Head of Marketing and
Consumer Products at DreamWorks Animation; and Josh Goldstine, President
of Marketing at Universal Pictures.
