WebRadio module
The WebRadio module allows you to listen the radio via the Internet. An internet connection is therefore required and if you have a firewall or router, then you will need to make sure port 8000 is open.
By default, there are 20 predefined radio stations (mainly French) but you have the possibility of adding to these by performing a search through a database of more then 1000 French radio stations or by directly adding them from shoutcast websites.
Finally, Domotix manages the information sent by the webradio, which means the artists and song names of the songs that are currently playing (Note that very few radio stations offer this service currently).
1. Listen to the radio
To listen to the radio, nothing could be simpler: select the folder/genre that you want, the list of stations will be displayed, and click on the station that you want to listen to.
2. Manage the stations
Domotix allows you to modify, add or delete the stations. To do this, position your mouse over the station that you want to use and click on the heart button (or F2, or the menu button on your remote). The options menu will appear and offer the different actions that are possible:
- Delete the current station
- Change the current station
- Manually add a station (se below)
- Look for a station (see below)
- Edit a station (see below)
3. Edit or add a station
You access this screen by going to the option menu (F2 or the heart button) and selecting modify or add.
This screen allows you to edit information relating to a station. You can change the name, address (not recommended), category and update its picture.
To change the associated picture there are 2 possibilties:
- Update the picture: you can select a picture from your hard drive
- Search for a picture on the internet: Domotix will automatically search for possible pictures and display the list. You then need to select one that interests you and press OK.
4. Search for a station
La recherche de webradio est certainement la fonctionnalité la plus interressante: elle vous permet à partir d'un mot clé d'effectuer une recherche dans la base des radio francaise (plus des 1000 radios) mais également dans la base de données shoutcast.
Searching for a webradio is certainly a very interesting option: it allows you to find a station from a keyword, with more then 1000 French stations available, with others being present in the shoutcast database.
To find a webradio station:
- Options menu -> Search
- Then click on the search button and enter the criteria (for example “europe”)
- Domotix will show you the list of results which match the criteria, its encoding and category.
- By clicking on the result, you can then directly listen to the station (recommended so that the address is correct) or you can directly add it to your list.
