Don't display the Windows Mail start up screen

So as to speed up the opening of Windows Mail, the email client delivered natively with the Windows Vista operating system, it is possible to not display the programs start up screen. Here is how it can be done.

Firstly open the Windows registry editor by clicking on the start button located to the bottom left of the desktop. Next click on “Run” from the right hand side of the menu, click in the field, type “regedit” and click on the OK button.

Once you are in the Windows registry editor, go to the following location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail

Select the “Windows Mail” folder from the left hand side and then right click with the mouse on the right hand window. A drop down menu will appear and you need to select “New” and “DWORD Value 32 bit”.

A new entry will become visible. You now need to rename this key and provide it with a value. You can rename it by right clicking on it and selecting “Rename” from the drop down menu that appears. The second, can be done by selecting “Edit” after right clicking from the same menu. You need to provide this entry with the name “NoSplash” and give it a hexadecimal entry of “1”.
