But the best new feature of this updated version is the integration of a free antivirus system named Windows Live Safety Scanner, which is not installed by default, but can be made active in just a few seconds.

As to its level of efficiency, it would be best to wait for the results of other independent tests.

You have of course the possibility of using your own antivirus by simply providing messenger the file path your anti viruses executable file.

As for the interface, this last version is more squared then its predecessor. The windows are not as round and the contacts seem have a better look about them. Even better, the squared edges look great and there are less page refreshes …In this regard we prefer this version to the older ones as it is less….Childish!

Finally, a lot of work has been put into the offline messaging. Even if both parties are not online the system seems to function quite well. Good forecasts to come!!
