DSOUND.DLL Problem

Help Create a new topic
Every time I boot up W7 I get this error:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DSOUND.DLL is either not designed to run on
windows or it contains an error.

I have tried a few suggestions I found via Google, but I must not be
doing things right. Can anyone suggest a way to get rid of the error
that worked for you?

DirectSound
File version: 6.1.7600.16385

Is the one I have, but I don't know what uses it.
