Aspera, Inc. (http://www.asperasoft.com/),
creators of next-generation software technologies that move the world’s
digital assets at maximum speed, today announced that Dubsat (http://www.dubsat.com.au/),
an Omnilab (http://www.omnilab.com.au/)
company, has selected Aspera as the core data transfer technology of
MediaPro Extreme (http://www.dubsat.com.au/DubSatOnline/sites/dsonline/content/products_mediapro.shtml),
the second generation of their much-heralded MediaPro Mac and PC desktop
application that revolutionized the file transferring, management and
delivery of TV, radio, outdoor and online advertising across the Pacific
Asia region.
“By incorporating Aspera’s fasp (http://www.asperasoft.com/en/technology/fasp_overview_1/fasp_technology_overview_1)
into MediaPro Extreme we are providing more market-leading services to
our clients. MediaPro Extreme is free to download for any registered
Dubsat user and gives maximum control and quality while saving time and
money through added convenience and greater efficiencies,” said Grant
Schuetrumpf, CEO of Dubsat. “There are four significant new improvements
with MediaPro Extreme including ultra-high speed file transfers; a
completely new streamlined interface, a job workflow feature and an
incorporated booking wizard. With these improvements, users can now use
Media Pro Extreme to manage the entire delivery process of their
broadcast advertising.”
Adam Larter, CTO of Dubsat added “Powered by Aspera’s fasp
next-generation file transfer technology you can now send your content
at much faster rates than ever before. MediaPro Extreme does away with
FTP and tapes by allowing you to simply drag and drop files from your
desktop onto MediaPro Extreme to begin high-speed file transfers. Users
are able to transfer files in the background, prioritize the order, and
pause or resume file transfers in progress. With its complete
reliability and ease of use, Aspera’s fasp has become the industry
standard for the high-speed movement and management of large files or
collections of files over wide area networks.”
One of MediaPro Extreme’s unique features is that Dubsat users can
immediately preview uploaded content to self-check video, audio, and
clapper as required for TVC deliveries, all from their desktop. MediaPro
Extreme enables the user to choose a contribution file format that best
suits their production requirements, including ProRes, MPEG2 and MPEG4.
It also provides the ability to aggregate video and audio streams and
clappers, with full support of multiplexed files for video and audio
content. MediaPro Extreme is integrated with Dubsat’s online web portal
MyDubsat (http://www.dubsat.com.au/DubSatOnline/sites/dsonline/content/products_mydubsat.shtml),
providing a synchronized connection to online live booking,
closed-captioning services, a delivery cost estimation tool, asset
archiving, real-time repurposing services, tracking and delivery
notifications.
“Dubsat’s MediaPro Extreme is another excellent example of how easily
Aspera can be integrated into a great product to make it even better,”
said John Wastcoat, vice president at Aspera. “A large and growing
percentage of Aspera partners are using our broad set of APIs to embed
Aspera into their products and applications. Our partners benefit from
being able to quickly integrate and release a product, and end users
benefit from needing to make fewer technology choices.”
