Eid Passport, Inc. announced today that it was selected by the Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to screen, credential and manage the
identities of FEMA’s thousands of housing inspectors who are dispatched
to homes damaged or destroyed by hurricanes, tornadoes and other
Presidential-declared natural disasters.
FEMA awarded a single Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to Eid Passport
on May 31, 2012 for FEMA’s Housing Inspection Services Identity
Background Screening Program. The BPA provides up to five years for Eid
Passport to conduct field registrations and fingerprinting, background
screenings, and state-of-the-art, high assurance identity credentials
for FEMA’s housing inspectors throughout the U.S., Guam, Puerto Rico and
other U.S. territories.
“Eid Passport is proud to receive this opportunity,” said Steve Larson,
Eid Passport’s CEO. “Housing inspectors often are the first FEMA
representatives disaster victims meet. We look forward to partnering
with FEMA to be part of the team that helps disaster victims rebuild
their lives after a devastating natural disaster.”
FEMA’s housing inspectors verify residential damage and are key in
determining disaster relief eligibility. The demand for housing
inspectors is greatest during hurricane season. According to FEMA,
following Hurricane Katrina, 1.3 million housing inspections were
completed in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi.
FEMA’s approximately 6,000 housing inspectors are managed by private
companies. Eid Passport will enhance existing personnel security
measures through Eid Passport’s RAPIDGate® Program and
the issuance of Eid Passport’s new-generation RAPIDPIV-I™
credentials. It is anticipated that every FEMA disaster housing
inspector will participate in the RAPIDGate Program.
