How to find RSS streams?
Most of the time, these can be found on the front page of an internet site. You shouldn’t have any problems finding them (if they are there, of course!). Most of the time they will also be accompanied by the following icon:

You can find a page that lists all of the available RSS sites on a site, for example, http://www.generation-nt.com/divers/services.php for GNT.
How to read RSS streams?
There are multiple ways of doing this. There are programs that will look after this for you called RSS aggregators. You can use a “normal” program that you install and execute on your PC; otherwise you can use an online aggregator, which is an internet site that collects all of the streams you request and displays them on the same page.
In this article, I will present RSSOwl, a free RSS aggregator. This is obviously not the only one available on the internet and you can use another if you prefer. A Google search for “RSS aggregator” will also provide you with more then enough results. If you don’t like the one I’m using, I can also recommend NewsVore and News Interceptor 3.
There is also a Firefox extension available: Sage. I will not be presenting this in detail, but it is a very useful extension that is widely used. If you use Firefox for everything, I can highly recommend it.
